US Navy s solar satellite can open the way for solar farms in space

https://www.afinalwarning.com/500232.html (Natural News) Researchers with the Navy are testing a space-based solar panel in a bid to install a solar farm in orbit around Earth. Known as the Photovoltaic Radiofrequency Antenna Module (PRAM), the solar panel is no bigger than a pizza box but can be scaled up to generate large amounts of energy. The Navy launched PRAM to space in May last year aboard its unmanned space plane X-37B. The solar panel now loops around Earth every 90 minutes, capturing sunlight that could one day be transmitted to any place on Earth. Advantages of solar satellites

A Look at the Space Race a Decade Before Apollo 11

Type keyword(s) to search Race to the Moon: A Look at the Space Race a Decade Before Apollo 11 In 1959, Popular Mechanics reported on a steadily growing space race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. At the time, things were not looking good for NASA. By Dan Q. Posin Popular Mechanics In the August 1959 issue, Popular Mechanics reported on a growing trend of exploration that would go on to define the 1960s the Space Race. Only two years removed from the Soviet Union s surprise launch of Sputnik, the United States and the recently renamed NASA were struggling to keep pace with the cosmonauts. A decade before man would finally land on the moon, the Space Race looked a lot different than what would eventually play out in the years to come.

A solar panel in space is collecting energy that could one day be beamed to anywhere on Earth

Scientists working for the Pentagon have successfully tested a solar panel the size of a pizza box in space, designed as a prototype for a future system to send electricity from space back to any point on Earth. The panel known as a Photovoltaic Radiofrequency Antenna Module (PRAM) was first launched in May 2020, attached to the Pentagon s X-37B unmanned drone, to harness light from the sun to convert to electricity. The drone is looping Earth every 90 minutes. The panel is designed to make best use of the light in space, which doesn t pass through the atmosphere, and so retains the energy of blue waves, making it more powerful than the sunlight that reaches Earth. Blue light diffuses on entry into the atmosphere, which is why the sky appears blue.
