Tickets for Inaugural Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill to go On Sale Monday, June 14

The Fair Hill Organizing Committee (FHOC), an affiliate of the Sport and Entertainment Corporation of Maryland (The Sport Corp.), today announced tickets for the inaugural Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill will go on sale Monday, June 14 at 10 a.m. EDT. Ticket information and purchasing options will be available at Maryland5Star.us/Tickets. The much-anticipated Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill will take place October 14-17 at the new Fair Hill Special Event Zone in Cecil County, Maryland. The event, one of only two 5 Star (CCI5 -L) equestrian events in the United States and seventh worldwide, will showcase four days of world-class competition at the Olympic sport of Eventing’s highest level. Spectators will see Eventing’s elite athletes and horses competing at the new venue for the first time across three disciplines, dressage, cross-country, and show jumping for a combined $325,000 in prize money.

Founded by international 5 judge Isabelle Judet and her husband Jean Claude Cheret, Pamfou Dressage has been managed by Camille and Corentin for the past eight years. While dressage training is the core business, the scouting, development and sales of dressage horses has taken up a central position in the daily runnings.  Training and Sales Camille and Corentin have been member of the French national dressage teams from pony level to Under 25. The French Equestrian Federation has now placed both riders on the Olympic list for Paris 2024.

The inaugural five-star long format (CCI5 -L) horse trials event at Fair Hill in Maryland in October will offer $US300,000 ($NZ413,000; €247,000) in prize money, and another $US25,000 is earmarked for the US Equestrian Federation (USEF) Eventing National Championship (CCI3 -L), which will run in conjunction with the five-star class. The United States Eventing Association (USEA) Young Event Horse East Coast Championships is also taking place at Fair Hill.

AgriCulture: Farm Museum sneak peek, free fishing dates announced

Cecil County Farm Museum and Regional Agricultural Center is poised to open its doors to the public next month. There was a sneak preview Wednesday for officials of Cecil County and Maryland as well as Cecil County Public Schools. The center is located on Appleton Road in Elk Mills and shares the campus of the Cecil County School of Technology. Jeffrey Lawson, superintendent of the schools, said he sees the center becoming part of the curriculum. “I think it’s a great idea to bring some of our students through in a field trip setting,” Lawson said after touring the buildings, which include living displays, vintage and antique farm technology and a classroom. “Here they can experience and learn more about the local community.”
