PORT-AU-PRINCE: Haiti s new Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, took the office on Tuesday in the aftermath of the President s assassination two weeks ago, pledging to improve the country s dire security and to organize long-delayed elections. Henry was installed as head of a new government in an attempt to stabilize a country on the brink of chaos since the murder of President Jovenel Moise at his residence in the early hours of July 7.

PORT-AU-PRINCE - The interim prime minister who has run Haiti since the assassination of president Jovenel Moise agreed Monday to step aside and make way for an inclusive government that will hold elections, raising guarded hopes for more stability in the violence-wracked nation.
Interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph will hand over Tuesday to a new government whose primary task will be to hold elections quickly, a government official said.

Australia has joined strategic allies including the UK, US, and European Union in blaming China for its involvement in the Microsoft Exchange Server vulnerabilities found earlier this year.
In a joint statement from the Ministers for Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defence, the government issued its pointed statement against China‘s Ministry of State Security for developing exploits that could have targeted thousands of Australian organisations.
“These actions have undermined international stability and security by opening the door to a range of other actors, including cybercriminals, who continue to exploit this vulnerability for illicit gain,” the statement read.
Law firm working with Fortune 500 companies struck by ransomware attack

Campbell Conroy & O’Neil P.C., a leading law firm that counts among its customers some of the world’s largest companies such as those in the Fortune 500, has been struck by a ransomware attack.
The firm first detected the attack on Feb. 27 and an investigation determined that the attack involved ransomware preventing access to certain network files. While noting July 16 that it can’t confirm that data was stolen, the firm did say that there was a rich trove of data on the targeted system.
Data potentially stolen includes names, dates of birth, driver’s license and state identification numbers, financial account information, Social Security numbers, passport numbers, payment card information, medical information, health insurance information, biometric data and online account credentials.
