Russell Street Ventures will be part private equity firm and part incubator, working to create or boost healthcare companies that improve vulnerable patients quality of care and lower their healthcare costs, Smith announced Tuesday. The Nashville-based firm plans to launch or partner with two to three technology-enabled healthcare service companies within the next six months to a year. At least one of those companies will focus on improving access to healthcare in rural areas. Others may focus on senior healthcare or patients with serious illnesses and disabilities.
