The presidential palace in Indonesia’s planned new capital on Borneo island will look like a giant Garuda, the mythical bird in the Hindu and Buddhist universe and the country’s national symbol, at least when it comes to first pre-design studies. Local media reported that Balinese sculptor Nyoman Nuarta won the design contest for the palace and had posted a picture on Instagram which showed what looked like massive Garuda-type structure on top of a flat building patterned by a large number of columns. In addition, Indonesia’s president Joko Widodo posted a video of what Indonesia s future capital city could look.

Kigali, May 06 – Alissa and Josh Ruxin opened Heaven, Kigali’s first international restaurant and training facility, in 2008, and went on to create hundreds of jobs, train thousands of vulnerable youth, and expand to two restaurants, two hotels, and a tour company.
Today, the entrepreneurial couple credit much of their success to their partnership with U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), which provided insurance that supported their early expansion and gave local lenders confidence in their venture.
“Once you get the backing of DFC, suddenly the local banks are knocking at your door,” Josh Ruxin said last month at a virtual town hall to educate local businesses about the ways DFC can support their expansion.

But also to reflect, as we were discussing on the aircraft flying up this morning, on the spectacular progress that we have achieved in our defense relationship since the Minister and I first came to Alexandroupoli together in September of 2019, around the removal of the sunken dredger Olga. I think we should all be enormously proud of what we have accomplished together here in Alexandroupoli and the transformative strategic impact of the work that we’ve done together. Greece’s Alexandroupolis Elevated to Strategic Importance for the U.S.

The port of Alexandroupolis in north-eastern Greece has assumed strategic importance for the U.S., the American ambassador to Greece said on Friday.
Geoffrey Pyatt, allied and Greek defense officials visited the port for the final phase of the inter-allied military exercise Defender-Europe 2021.

Speaking to the Athens News Agency, the American diplomat said that his visit “is proof of our strategic commitment to northern Greece and of Alexandroupolis’ role as a military logistics hub, an energy hub, a regional access hub and a transport hub.”
