LIFE FORCE Pilot Receives Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award Monday, May 10, 2021 LIFE FORCE pilot Mel Hughes receives the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award from the Federal Aviation Administration LIFE FORCE Air Medical pilot Mel Hughes was awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. Mr. Hughes joined LIFE FORCE nearly 30 years ago after serving as a military pilot for many years. He is currently stationed at LIFE FORCE 2 base in Sparta.     The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award is the most prestigious award the Federal Aviation Administration issues to pilots who are certified under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 61 – for pilots, flight instructors and ground instructors.
