Camanche Schools Narrow Mascot Options Down To 7 Get our free mobile app Back in March, the Camanche School Board voted to officially rid of the Indian mascot from the school district. The removal of the Indian mascot comes after several years of recommendations from school agencies and Native American groups to address and remove the mascot. The school board voted 5-to-1, with one person not present to vote, to remove Indian as the mascot and nickname for the school at the end of the 2020-2021 school year. After a month of suggestions from community members, the Camanche School district announced that they have narrowed the options down to seven. Those seven options include:
