The United States has already allocated about $43 million to Ukraine to help fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kristina Kvien, Chargé d Affaires, a.i. at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, said this during the All-Ukrainian Forum “Coronavirus: Challenges and Responses” on February 8, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The U.S. supports Ukraine and has already allocated about $43 million.,” she said.
She stressed that apart of medical aid, the United States provides humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
“The U.S. support is not only in the form of medical help, but also humanitarian assistance. We are helping SMBs to survive these difficult times,” she said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a decree on February 2 sanctioning and effectively blocking three Kremlin-linked Ukrainian television channels. NewsOne, 112 and Zik are all officially owned by Ukrainian MP Taras Kozak but are believed to be controlled by Viktor Medvedchuk, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s closest ally in Ukraine. Kozak and Medvedchuk are both members of Ukraine’s pro-Kremlin Opposition Platform-For Life party.

U.S. diplomats have supported the recently-introduced sanctions against TV channels associated with Vladimir Putin s political operative in Ukraine, Viktor Medvedchuk. The United States supports Ukraine s efforts yesterday to counter Russia s malign influence, in line with Ukrainian law, in defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv said in a statement issued on Wednesday, February 3.

The United States has transferred 20 new high mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicles (HMMWV), aka Humvees, and 84 boats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
