U.S. restaurant association to nix indoor mask suggestion per CDC

NEW YORK (Reuters) -The U.S. National Restaurant Association will remove a suggestion from its operating guidance for restaurants that says fully vaccinated people should still wear masks indoors, following new advice from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Thursday. We still have a lot of questions for the CDC about how we need to implement their latest guidance, Larry Lynch, the NRA s Senior Vice President of Science and Industry, said in a statement sent to Reuters. We are in the process of updating our COVID-19 Operating Guidance where it reflects the CDC s previous language and after talking with CDC, will determine if other changes are needed.

Despite encouraging signs that economies could reopen as COVID-19 vaccinations are rolled out, additional waves of infections and extended travel restrictions weigh heavily on the leisure and hospitality industry
The leisure and hospitality sector has been among the hardest hit by the pandemic, with ongoing restrictions and mandatory closures affecting restaurants, hotels and travel companies.
Forced to close their doors and with profits declining steeply, leisure and hospitality companies in the US in particular turned to capital markets to secure liquidity to see them through the pandemic.

Opinion: Millbury Senior Center news

Special event
National Honor Society students from Millbury High School are making lasagna as a special treat for elderly who would like one. The pick-up date is Monday, Dec. 14, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., but you must call in advance to request one by Friday, Dec. 11. They are making 45 small pans of lasagna which is good for two people and can be frozen for later use. This a wonderful program for young adults in our community to give a gift of caring.
This event is grab-and-go outside the senior center. The students will be on hand to just put it in your car. There will be no contact and masks must be worn. The food is being prepared at the high school with the supervision of a teacher who is ServSafe cerified (through the food and beverage safety training and certificate program administered by the U.S. National Restaurant Association). I am told the students are taking a cooking lesson from a wonderful Italian mother.
