When it came time to land at San Francisco on July 7, 2017, the pilots of an Air Canada jet could not recall a critical piece of information buried on page eight of a 27-page briefing package: the closure of one of the airport’s two runways.
Mistaking the runway they were cleared to land on for the one that was closed, the fatigued pilots chose the wrong reference point and lined up to land on a parallel taxiway instead. They came within seconds of colliding with four planes.

Tesla s Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta v9.0 software update is coming sooner than expected and it promises to remove reliance on radar readings and focus on computer vision.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the FSD v9.0 may be available in two weeks and teased that it will blow your mind.

On Apr. 10, Inside EVs said that Tesla electric vehicles (EV) usually come with twelve ultrasonic sensors, eight cameras, and a forward-facing radar sensor, but the latter will not be used when the FSD v9.0 becomes available.
Musk also confirmed that the radar sensor would be dropped from Tesla s production, and would stop using the technology in the future.

April 28 (Reuters) - The U.S. transport safety board is working to publish as soon as possible a preliminary report on a recent Tesla vehicle crash in Texas in which local police said no one was in the driver s seat, a senior official told Reuters, acknowledging public confusion over the fatal accident. A preliminary report typically comes out in a month, but we are working hard to get it out as soon as possible because we recognize there is this confusion out there, Kristin Poland, Deputy Director of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), said in an interview with Reuters.
