Nevada County Reads & Writes hosts Nisenan cultural programs

Santa Barbara Library Hosts Veterans Job Workshop, Offers Online Help

Housing and Development Newsletter In conjunction with this release, SBPL will be hosting a workshop at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 for veterans who are transitioning to a civilian job or looking for a new one. The workshop, led in partnership with county Veterans Service officer Joseph Fletcher, a veteran himself, will help individuals explain their military experience in a way that shows their leadership, skills, and experience in ways a civilian workforce can understand. Workshop topics will include: translating military skills to civilian/corporate speak; tips on avoiding or best conversions for acronyms; and figuring out how to articulate what you did in the military and how it can relate to the job for which you are applying.

Ashcroft Awards Technology Mini-Grant to Boonslick Regional News Highlights: Ashcroft Awards Technology Mini-Grant to Boonslick Regional Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft announced that Boonslick Regional Library will open a Technology Mini grant of $ 17,515. “Missouri’s libraries serve as vital resources for their communities,” said Ashcroft. “Last year, library directors and staff developed new ways to reach their customers and provide services. These grants help libraries provide the technology they need to expand their services and meet the needs of their customers. “ Recommended The library will use the grant to purchase and install eight early literacy stations in four locations.
