B Capital raises $415m to back later-stage portfolio firms, expands to China

Venture capital firm B Capital Group has raised $415 million for a new fund that will provide follow-on capital to high-performing portfolio companies, it announced on Thursday.
The fund is the firm’s first formally dedicated to late-growth and late-stage investing. It brings the VC’s total assets under management (AUM) to $1.9 billion.
DealStreetAsia had in September reported that B Capital was in the market to raise an opportunities fund – industry parlance for funds that seek to provide additional capital to top companies in VCs’ existing portfolios – and was seeking to raise $350 million for it.

The asset manager’s gains from the Bitcoin futures only represent 0.00142% of the total fund’s assets.

Joe Vitiritto earned slightly more than $1.9 million in his first half year as CEO of PAM Transportation Inc. of Tontitown, according to a proxy filed by the company with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.
Vitiritto, 50, started Aug. 18, replacing interim CEO Matthew Moroun, who is the company s chairman of the board. Moroun had taken the position on an interim basis after longtime CEO Dan Cushman retired May 1.
Vitiritto s salary was $530,036 for the year, which was pro-rated to $183,474. He also received a $328,500 bonus and more than $1.4 million in stock awards.
Cushman earned total compensation of $546,471, down from the nearly $1.2 million he made in his last full year as CEO in 2019. Cushman earned $428,085 in salary and received $112,900 in stock awards.
