A fugitive was killed in a shooting in north Killeen Thursday morning as U.S. Marshals tried to serve an arrest warrant, U.S. Marshals and the Killeen Police Department confirmed.
âOn May 13, 2021, at approximately 10:35 a.m., agents with the United States Marshals Office were serving a federal arrest warrant in the 1900 block of Poage Avenue, when shots were fired. One person is deceased,â according to a Facebook post from the Killeen Police Department.
The incident occurred three blocks away from Peebles Elementary School.
âInvestigators continue to process the scene and there is no immediate danger in the area,â KPD spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said Thursday morning.

KILLEEN, Texas - The Killeen Police Department says federal and state organizations are investigating a shooting that occurred in Killeen Thursday.
KPD says on May 13, 2021, at approximately 10:35 am, agents with the United States Marshal s Office were serving a federal arrest warrant in the 1900 block of Alamo Avenue when shots were fired.
The department confirms one person has been killed.

KILLEEN, TEXAS â Shortly after 10:30 Thursday morning, the United States Marshals Office were serving a federal arrest warrant in the 1900 block of Alamo Avenue, when shots were fired.
Killeen Police reported that one person is dead.
On Friday, the Texas Rangers released the identity of the suspect as 40-year-old Samuel Roberto Pleasant Sr.
Next of kin have been notified.
USMS attempted to arrest Pleasant on Federal Felony warrant Felon in Possesion of a Firearm probation violation.
The U.S. Marshals Office and the Texas Rangers will be investigating the incident.
