York County man accused of dragging officer with his vehicle arrested by U.S. Marshals

A York County man accused of dragging a police officer during a traffic stop earlier this month was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service on Monday, according to a statement.
40-year-old Shane Eckert, charged with aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and other related charges, was found in a hotel room in Fairview Township, York County, according to the Marshals.
Eckert, of Thomasville, ran when a marshals’ task force and Fairview Township police tried to apprehend him by forcing his way into an adjacent room and running away through the hallway, according to the marshals.

Police apprehend ICE detainee who escaped from prison, authorities say

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainee who escaped from Essex County Jail earlier this month was caught Saturday, authorities said.
A national of Guatemala, Luis Cordon-Guzman, 31, escaped from prison on Dec. 4 after he was being held there while he faced pending removal proceedings, the ICE Newark office announced Monday.
ICE officers arrested him on Dec. 12 but no other details on his release or escape were released.
“As a result of the investigatory efforts of the dedicated men and women of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Newark Field Office, this criminal alien is back behind bars,” Newark ICE-ERO Field Officer Director John Tsoukaris said in a statement. “Our officers worked day and night over this past week to bring this individual to justice.”
