Trump Lawyers Cite Ruth Bader Ginsburg in Wisconsin Case

Donald Trump are relying on a dissent by the late  Ruth Bader Ginsburg in an attempt to use the judiciary to win the 2020 presidential election in Wisconsin. They’re also relying on a missive penned by  Laurence Tribe, the Harvard Law professor emeritus who argued vehemently in favor of Trump’s impeachment and who has otherwise been deeply critical of the president. In a Dec. 16 brief before the federal U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Trump’s attorneys asked the judges to declare that state and local Wisconsin officials conducted the election in violation of both state statutes and the U.S. Constitution and to issue an injunction allowing the Republican-controlled state legislature to select its own electors.

A Win! Hawaii s Appeal to Gut Trump s Travel Order Rejected by 9th Circuit

Ismail Elshikh, Muslim Association of Hawaii was a co-plaintiff in suit against Trump Administration. The U.S. Appeals Court denied Hawaii’s bid to narrow the travel ban, according to Reuters. No emergency orders will be issued blocking any parts of President Trump’s temporary travel ban. Hawaii was essentially trying to do more than expand the definition of who would be admitted. They wanted to gut it so fully that it would be meaningless. In other words, they were hoping to defy a ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in June that the ban on travel from six terror nations which are also Muslim-majority could go forward with a limitation. The limitation being it did not apply to anyone who has a credible “bona fide” relationship with a U.S. person or entity such as a school.
