RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention is looking into a Virginia womanâs death as part of its investigation into possible adverse side effects from the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the stateâs vaccine coordinator, Dr. Danny Avula, the womanâs death happened in March and was reported to the CDCâs Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).
According to the VAERS website, the woman who died was 45 years old and died 12 days after receiving the shot.

RICHMOND – This afternoon, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention confirmed to the Virginia Department of Health that it is examining the March death of a Virginia woman as part of its investigation into possible adverse side effects from the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, according to a statement from Virginia s state vaccine coordinator Dr. Danny Avula.
The Virginia death was reported to the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System and a report can be found by searching the system for VAERS ID 1114806-1. No additional details will be provided during the investigation, Avula said in his statement.
