Jan. 23 Korean Consul General Young-jun Kim and members of his staff paid honor to the City of Miami and one of its war heroes by donating 5,000 COVID-19 masks to the city, along with an Ambassador for Peace medal and 1,000 additional masks to Burley Smith, who exhibited valor and kindness in that conflict.
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez accepted the honor at Miami s City Hall in Coconut Grove on Friday afternoon on behalf of the city and presented Miami s flag to Kim and the people of Geoje in the Republic of Korea.
Hassan nominates local student for U.S. Military Academy

Maggie Hassan has announced that she has nominated 35 New Hampshire students to attend United States Service Academies the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy, and U.S. Naval Academy. Every year, I have the honor to nominate exemplary Granite Staters who have made the selfless decision to serve and help keep our country safe, secure, and free, Hassan said. I was particularly impressed that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this year s class continued to stay on top of their studies and persevered through unprecedented challenges. As they continue their training and their education, I wish them all the best in their future endeavors and am deeply grateful for their interest in serving our country.

Washington, D.C. Even as the House was moving to impeach President Donald Trump for a second time, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), the incoming Senate majority leader, laid out a “bold” agenda that includes infrastructure investment.
Schumer told his fellow Democrats in a letter their work will not be delayed by the impeachment drama.
Schumer’s call for action on infrastructure tracks with President-elect Joe Biden’s campaign agenda that included transforming the nation’s crumbling transportation infrastructure.
Ports and inland waterways were specifically included in that vision along with roads, bridges, aviation and rail, the transportation closely identified with “Amtrak Joe.”
