The doc is slated for a 2022 release and will be directed by Oscar nominee Zach Heinzerling (
Cutie and the Boxer) and Emmy winner Gabrielle Schonder (
The NRA: Under Fire). The film will be based on Seth Hettena’s May 2020 feature on Giuliani for
Per a press release, the film will delve into how Giuliani rose to prominence after September 11th as “America’s Mayor,” cultivating the aura of a reliable leader and national hero. The film will then examine how Giuliani has steadily chipped away at his own reputation in the two decades since, especially after he became heavily involved with former President Donald Trump, including his role in the Ukraine scandal that led to Trump’s first impeachment, to his work as Trump’s personal lawyer pushing phony fraud claims after the 2020 election.

Former New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver is being sent back to federal prison after a request for community placement was denied, two sources familiar with the situation tell News 4.

Silver was furloughed from Otisville earlier this week while awaiting a potential placement on home confinement. The former speaker, 77, is serving a six-year sentence on corruption charges.

(JTA) Sheldon Silver, the former speaker of the New York State Assembly, is reportedly headed back to prison, just days after being sent home on what officials had described as a COVID-related furlough.
The Associated Press, citing a source familiar with the situation, reported that the reversal of fortune came after the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan, which prosecuted Silver’s case, notified the Bureau of Prisons that it had opposed his release.

Sheldon Silver is heading back to federal prison, just two days after he was released on an unexplained furlough, according to multiple reports.
The disgraced former State Assembly Speaker was cut loose from Otisville Prison on Tuesday while awaiting a request to serve out the remainder of his sentence in home confinement. That request has now been denied, a source familiar with the matter told the Associated Press on Thursday.
