The VA Bedford Health Care System in Massachusetts will begin offering COVID-19 vaccine shots to all veterans enrolled in VA health care starting later this week.

State-wide, the COVID vaccine rollout has been dogged with questions, and veterans are not immune to the confusion. We started at the beginning of January receiving information, but it was a word-of-mouth sort of thing at first, said Billerica Veterans Services Director Joseph Ruggiero. The VA started sending out emails two weeks ago, and at first they were sporadic updates.
The Bedford facility is administering the Pfizer vaccine, provided in two doses.

As he rolled up his sleeve to receive his first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, Department of Veterans Affairs Press Secretary Terrence Hayes said he was excited to get a shot that will decrease the likelihood he ll bring the coronavirus home to his family.
