Braehead staff walk the miles for Glasgow Children s Hospital THE team at Braehead Shopping Centre are going mall out to raise money for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. A total of 23 members of staff have been stepping out to take part in the charity’s fundraising Lap The Map virtual walk around the almost 76,000 kilometre coastline of Europe. They have been clocking up the miles pounding the pavements during the month of May and collecting sponsorship on their JustGiving Page. Lap the Map is a virtual race between Glasgow Children s Hospital Charity and Edinburgh Children s Hospital Charity supporters. The Braehead walkers are part of #TeamGlasgow.

The cutting-edge Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT) will be available on the NHS in Scotland for the first time thanks to a partnership between the Welch Trust, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) and NHS Lothian to bring it to the capital’s new children’s hospital. LITT is a minimally invasive treatment which uses laser to remove brain tissue that is causing seizures.
