The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District will host two second-dose COVID-19 clinics from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Richard R. Flores Stadium, located at 1800 south Stadium Drive, this week.
According to a news release, patients who received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine at Vela High School on April 15 are eligible for a vaccine clinic held Wednesday, May 12.
Patients who received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine at Vela High School on April 16 are eligible for a clinic held Thursday, May 13.

The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District will host a second dose COVID-19 community vaccine clinic from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, at the Richard R. Flores Stadium, located at 1800 South Stadium Drive.
According to a news release from the district, the event is only for individuals who received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine at Vela High School on March 24.
Officials ask that individuals who plan to attend the event bring their COVID-19 vaccination card for a second dose.

The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District administered the 20,000th dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Friday at Vela High School.
Edinburg CISD COVID-19 Director Dr. Anthony Garza said the district runs on only about 80 employees.
“We’re very proud that we administers over 20,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine here in our Edinburg CISD clinics,” Garza said.
Donna resident Pablo Torres received the miles stone dose.
“I feel good,” Torres said. “It feels great to have the shot. I’m happy.”

3,000 wristbands have yet to be distributed during for Edinburg CISD s COVID-19 vaccine clinic.
The school district announced Wednesday morning they are distributing 4,000 wristbands starting at noon on April 14 at the Richard R. Flores Stadium in Edinburg for recipients to receive their first dose of the Moderna vaccine.
In a news release sent out Wednesday afternoon, Edinburg CISD said 3,000 wristbands remain and that the wristband distribution will end Wednesday at 7 p.m.
