After skipping last year due to the pandemic, E3 will officially return in 2021 with a free online show running June 12-15th. The organisers say to expect participants including Microsoft, Ubisoft, Take-Two, and Nintendo. E3 is the biggest marketing event on the games industry s calendar but last year its organisers didn t arrange an online replacement after the pandemic ruled out an in-person show, leading to a weeks-long sprawl of unaffiliated alternatives from publishers and the media. Today s announcement says yep, live press conferences are back with the four-day stream. San Francisco, April 6 : The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2021 will take place from June 12-15 as a free, reimagined, all-virtual event, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) said on Tuesday.
Companies such as Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive and Warner Bros. Games are among those who have made early commitments.
The event will allow developers to showcase their latest news and games directly to fans around the world. For more than two decades, E3 has been the premier venue to showcase the best that the video game industry has to offer, while uniting the world through games, Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of the ESA, said in a statement.

Following the cancelation of 2020’s event due to covid-19, and much rumour and speculation regarding this year’s iteration of what was once the most important video game trade show in the world, the Entertainment Software Association today announces E3 2021, a free all-digital event running June 12 through 15. Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, and Koch Media are already slated to participate.

E3 is returning after a year s absence with a new format, and Nintendo is one of the backers.
First reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the retooled E3 will be a digital only event running from June 12-15, 2021 (Saturday to Tuesday). Nintendo has been announced as attending along with Microsoft, Capcom, Konami, Take Two Interactive, Ubisoft, WB Games, and Koch Media.
Although E3 s operators, the Electronic Software Association, have said more announcements are coming, currently among those not attending will be Square Enix, Sega/Atlus, Activision, and Bandai Namco. Some events of the show will be aired publicly, but there may be media-only days as well.
