Wednesday, June 2, 2021 The Barry-Lawrence Regional Library Summer Reading Challenge is now accepting registrations. This year’s theme is “Tails and Tales,” and will feature a mix of virtual and in-person events throughout the library district. Those who would like to attend may sign up at the library or online at blrlibrary.org. The Pierce City Senior Citizens Board will continue offering curbside senior lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and will be hosting dine-in only lunches from noon to 12:30 p.m. Thursdays throughout the month of June. Diners will need to follow the CDC guidelines pertaining to COVID-19. The price for lunches will increase to $5 for seniors 55 and older. Those under 55 will pay $6. Also, on the first Thursday of each month, Nell’s Nails will be back to serve seniors for a nominal fee at about 9 a.m. No reservations are needed. The building is also now available for renting. Trio granted bail over alleged aggravated burglary in Longford town Reporter: liam.cosgrove@longfordleader.ie Defendants Paul Owens, Shauna Harper and Michael O Brien granted bail following a sitting of Mullingar District Court this afternoon );   ); Two men and a woman accused of carrying out an aggravated burglary in Longford which left a man in hospital have been granted bail. Paul Owens (42), 27 Oakvale, Longford, Michael O Brien (25), 4 Fraynes Garden, Kenagh and Shauna Harper, Apartment 1, Take Two, Deanscurragh, Longford appeared at a sitting of Mullingar District Court this afternoon. Mr Owens, a father of four and a former Dublin County Council employee for 19 years and Mr O Brien were also charged with allegedly carrying out a Section 3 assault on a man after they allegedly entered a business premises on Wednesday night.
