Doha: In the presence of H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, the Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture was officially inaugurated at the Katara Cultural Village Opera House on Friday, January 15, 2021, with a special concert by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) and the US Air Forces Central Band (AFCENT Band). The event was hosted by Qatar Museums and the United States Embassy.
Introducing Friday evening’s concert were H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports, Qatar; Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to the United States; and Ambassador Greta C Holtz, Chargé d’Affaires, United States Embassy in Qatar. The concert marked the beginning of a year of specially curated exhibitions, festivals, bilateral exchanges, and events to be held in both nations.

LAKE FOREST, CA She won t tell you her name is Dayna, but she will answer to it, mom Jill Harris says.
In late December, Dayna Harris, 7, fled her Lake Forest home. Though she was only gone a matter of a few minutes, her sudden absence terrified her parents. Instead of living in fear, they stepped out on faith to introduce her to the neighborhood to help get her back home should it happen again.

Lyrics aren t always meant to be taken literally. Nobody should have to endure some obnoxious guy at a bar pedantically explaining that the sun never goes around the moon. (I don t know why you re at a bar that plays Vanessa Williams songs from two decades ago, but just go with it.)
But some artists just get it plain wrong. Whether it s due to lack of research, laziness or simply a strident desire to stick to the rhyme scheme, there are occasions where creative license turns to pure fiction.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. Trying to locate lost loved ones is difficult enough. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office hopes to make the search a little easier for those with special needs with an online registry called “Take Me Home.”
As an officer of 20 years and a father of three, Brian Herritt had an idea 10 years ago that has been a game changer in tracking down lost loved ones with special needs called the “Take Me Home.” Inside the system, information, including the missing person’s contact info, picture, medications and their sensory issues is listed.

A group of Katy rice growers has contributed to an organization’s donation of 11,000 pounds of rice to an Austin food bank.
The Western Rice Belt Production Conference, which represents rice growers in the region west of Houston and is put on by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, was changed to a virtual event because of the pandemic. That saved money; so the extra funds were used to help feed people in 21 Central Texas counties.
