Bemidji State hosts Take Back the Night sexual violence awareness event

BCSD once again taking part in Drug Take Back Day By Jim Measel

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day as health and law enforcement officials work together to get surplus prescription drugs off the streets.
The Branch County Sheriffâs Department is once again taking part in the effort. They are reminding residents they have a drop off box in their front lobby which is available 24 hours a day.
The drugs collected will be handed over to law enforcement officers and properly destroyed.
A 2015 study says 6.4 million Americans abuse controlled prescription drugs. About 40,000 opioid pills were collected during the 2018 Drug Take Back Day.
Standing in Solidarity with Sexual Assault Survivors
The annual Take Back the Night March at UC to show solidarity between sexual assault survivors and their supporters and proclaim their right to safety will take place Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on campus.
This event is a collaborative effort of the Safe Trax program, K. Della Ferguson Women’s Resource Center, Golden Z, and YWCAMV. It will feature a staggered march from Strebel Student Center around the campus, with groups leaving every few minutes. The marchers will carry tea light candles.
Please note - Due to COVID-19 restrictions,
only UC students, faculty and staff will be allowed to participate in the event, with masks and social distancing required; no off-campus guests will be allowed.
