Elderly patients, especially those with Parkinson disease (PD), often bear the brunt of the pandemic due to pre-existing pulmonary disease and/or anatomical disposition. Elderly patients with PD represent a vulnerable population that presents with a gamut of respiratory ailments, including infections and airway foreign body aspirations, and in some cases, leading to the development of pneumonia.
