Google declared Android 11 ready for prime time on September 8, 2020. At the time of writing, we’re fast approaching the OS’ six-month anniversary and the chatter is already turning towards the recently announced Android 12. Android rollouts have historically been a bit on the slow side, so how well did Android manufacturers do this time around? That’s exactly what we want to explore.
Timely Android updates are just as important as the number of years a manufacturer promises to support a product. After all, it’s no good receiving September’s security patch next April. Update speed should definitely be a factor when deciding on your next smartphone purchase. To help you make an informed decision, we’ve ranked the top 10 major brands by the time taken to bring Android 11 their last-gen flagship smartphones.

Bottom Line
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag is an awesome tracker that s multiple steps ahead of the competition. It s simple to use, convenient, and offers peace of mind. Unfortunately though, it s exclusive to Samsung s ecosystem. If you have a Galaxy phone this is a great buy for those prone to losing their valuables. If you don t, then you ll sadly have to look elsewhere.

As is the case with many other early developer previews, we aren’t seeing too many visual changes to the operating system. At least, we’re not seeing the big UI overhaul that was rumored a few weeks ago. However, there are still plenty of little changes here and there.
Android 12 notifications
Google is yet again changing the look of the Android notification user interface. Notifications now have a more modern look. They take up about the same amount of space in the notification shade as before, but the layout and font size have changed. See the comparisons below for the difference as compared to Android 11. These are subtle changes, but ones you’ll no doubt notice if you’re used to the way Android currently handles notifications.
