Davis nominates service academy students

Washington, D.C U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, has nominated 16 area students for admittance to the U.S. Service Academies for the Class of 2025.
The nominations for these students were made following an application and interview process. Final determination on admission is made by the individual academies.
The nominations include:
• Jackson Budwell, Glen Carbon, who attends Edwardsville High School. He is the son of Richard and Heather Budwell. He was nominated to the Military (West Point), Air Force, and Naval Academies.
• Alexa Harris, Edwardsville, who attends Edwardsville High School. He is the daughter of Robert and Penny Harris. She was nominated to the Air Force Academy.
Terrando marks 150th pints of blood donated

COVID-19 has not stopped Terrando from donating blood as she has been doing so since January 1980.
Terrando is an IT Equipment Control Clerk at Scott AFB. She has been at Scott AFB since June 1985. Besides donating blood, she is involved with the Communications Booster Club which she assists in planning activities for the Booster Club such as the picnic and holiday party.
For 16 years, Terrando was the Blood Drive Coordinator for the Air Force Communications Agency. She has won numerous awards for her volunteer work with the Red Cross.
Terrando is a 1979 graduate of Edwardsville High School and a 1980 graduate of Patricia Stevens Career College. She is the daughter of Carol Webb, of Highland, formerly of Edwardsville, and the late Victor Terrando.
