The Edwardsville Inteligencer is reporting 24-year-old Abigail L. Martin of Gillespie, was charged Tuesday, Feb. 2 with identity theft, after using another woman’s similar name and professional license number to obtain a job as a nurse. According to the Inteligencer report, the case was presented by the Edwardsville Police Department. According to court documents, on Nov. 30 Martin used the name and RN professional license number of another person with a similar name to obtain a position as a registered nurse. Martin received a salary of less than $300 by the time the issue was discovered.

The case was presented by the Illinois State Police. According to court documents, on Jan. 26 Spiroff was found to be driving a Nissan Maxima while under the influence of alcohol, and had a suspended license. Bail was set at $15,000. • Samuel Simpson Jr., 39, of St. Louis, was charged Jan. 28 with burglary, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Edwardsville Police Department. According to court documents, on June 3 Simpson broke in to the Verizon Wireless store at 6695 Edwardsville Crossing Drive, Edwardsville, to commit theft. Bail was set at $15,000.

Jayson A. Bull, 40, was charged Jan. 28 with unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class X felony; and unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. According to court documents, on Jan. 27 Bull was found to be in possession of more than 15 grams of methamphetamine, and Alprazolam, with intent to deliver. Bail was set at $50,000. Anthony M. McMoore, 31, of Alton, was charged with aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony, and domestic battery (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. According to court documents, on Nov. 12 McMoore allegedly “caused great bodily harm” to a family or household member while parked outside of a residence on Brown Street. He allegedly struck the victim in the face, knocking out one of her teeth. He is also alleged to have attacked the victim in the Upper Alton Cemetery. It was noted that he has a prior conviction for aggravated battery.

Alexandria N. Phillips, 19, was charged Jan. 26 with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. According to court documents, on Jan. 13 Phillips struck a 15-year-old male youth in the head with a baseball bat, causing a laceration that required seven stitches. Bail was set at $40,000. Other recent Madison County charges include: • James R. South, 34, of Bethalto, was charged Jan. 26 with theft under $500 (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. According to court documents, on July 17 South took less than $500 in cash from another person. It was noted that he had a prior conviction for aggravated robbery. Bail was set at $15,000.
