Justice Jerry Garguilo gave Endo and Arnold & Porter until the end of the week to explain why the state and two Long Island counties shouldn t obtain evidence from Endo and the firm as to their noncompliance with discovery in the trial, according to a short order signed on Friday afternoon..

BLOUNTVILLE â Plaintiffs and the sole remaining defendant in the Sullivan Baby Doe opioid lawsuit reached a settlement agreement Tuesday. Details were not yet filed in court as of the close of business Wednesday, but they are expected to be revealed publicly Thursday morning.
District Attorneys General Ken Baldwin, Barry Staubus, and Dan Armstrong (First, Second and Third Judicial Districts, respectively), along with attorney J. Gerard Stranch IV (lead counsel for the plaintiffs in the case) are scheduled to formally announce the settlement and share details of it at 9 a.m. on the second floor of the historic Sullivan County Courthouse.

Endo, Arnold & Porter Accused Of Cover-Up In Opioid MDL
Law360 (July 28, 2021, 10:20 PM EDT) Endo Pharmaceuticals and its Arnold & Porter lawyers are making incredibly belated discovery disclosures in multidistrict opioid litigation after a severe punishment for discovery violations in a separate opioid case, and an explanation under oath is needed, an Illinois federal judge heard Wednesday.
The assertions occurred during an MDL hearing and came on the heels of a default judgment against Endo in a Tennessee opioid case, where a state judge in April found that Endo willfully withheld information during discovery and that Endo and its attorneys false statements amounted to professional misconduct.
