Maersk Training has revealed that it has established a new partnership with the Shell Robert Training and Conference Center in Louisiana.
The partnership will see the entities deliver enhanced training to the Gulf of Mexico offshore workforce, Maersk Training highlighted. The company noted that the agreement will combine the world-class infrastructure and training set-up at the Shell Robert Center with Maersk Training’s experienced instructors and course-design methodology.
“This facility takes us to a new level in what we can offer to the market,” Matthew Roberts, Maersk Training’s operations manager, said in a company statement.
The lockout affects more than 650 members of USW Local 13-243.
(Bloomberg) The Exxon Mobil Corp. Texas refinery that’s set to become America’s largest oil-processing plant had to tap temporary crews to keep making gasoline and diesel during a worker lockout as the fuel industry prepares for a strong rebound this summer.
With the help of trained temporary employees and contractors, the Beaumont refinery has sufficient resource to “safely and efficiently operate,” the oil giant said in a statement Monday. It’s the first time the refinery has faced such a situation, and it’s unclear how it may affect production.

(Bloomberg) Arabian Drilling Co., a Saudi oilfield-services company partly held by Schlumberger NV, is preparing an initial public offering that could give it a valuation of around $2 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.
The firm, also owned by Saudi Arabia’s Industrialization & Energy Services Company, known as Taqa, has asked banks to pitch for a role on the potential share sale, the people said, asking not to be identified as the information is private.
