Section 34 proceeding is a proceeding against the corporate debtor in a court of law pertaining to a challenge to an arbitral award and would be covered just as an appellate proceeding in a decree from a suit would be covered, the bench headed by Justice RF Nariman observed in the judgment titled P Mohanraj & Ors. v. M/s Shah Brothers Ispat Ltd.

Picture: JONACANI LALAKOBAU Schools are legally obliged to report any injury or death to the Accident Compensation Commission Fiji (ACCF) and the Education Ministry. This, according to ACCF chief executive officer Parvez Akbar. He made the comment in light of reports of bullying and assault of students in schools. Mr Akbar said as outlined in the Accident Compensation (School Accidents) Regulations 2018, if a pupil suffers any personal injury or dies as a result of a school accident, the school must report the injury or death to ACCF and the Education Ministry.

On Tuesday, Opetaia told the jury he ran a boxing gym and a home for boys in Kelston, West Auckland, and managed Waitakere Boxing Association from the same address. The defendant told the jury he became an approved carer for boys aged between 13 and 16 and would care for about eight at a time. The way I structured the place it would be the last boys home they would be in, Opetaia said.
