A head-on collision that occurred Tuesday night just east of Somerset has left one person dead and two others seriously injured.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:48 p.m. on East Ky. 80 in the westbound lanes between Barnesburg Road and Ky. 461.Â
According to Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck, deputies arriving on scene determined that a 2009 Jeep was eastbound in the westbound lane of Ky. 80 when it struck a westbound 2016 Dodge Ram pickup head on.
The driver of the Jeep SUV was identified only as a Hispanic male. Pronounced dead at the scene, according to Pulaski County Coroner Clyde Strunk, the driver s next of kin had not been notified by press time Wednesday evening.

NEW HAVEN Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle Tuesday afternoon, leaving the individual with life-threatening injuries.
The accident occurred around 6 p.m. in the area of Columbus Avenue and Ella T. Grasso Boulevard, said New Haven police Capt. Anthony Duff.
He said the incident is being investigated by the department’s Accident Reconstruction Team.

HAMPTON, Va. Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Hampton.
The accident happened shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of West Mercury Boulevard. A 59-year-old woman lying in the roadway was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police say the woman was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Police say the crash is under investigation by the members of the Hampton Police Division’s Accident Reconstruction Team, and no charges have been made at this time.
