Meriden police: Woman charged with manslaughter in fatal pedestrian crash

MERIDEN A 27-year-old woman turned herself in Friday on a warrant, charging her in connection with a fatal crash from August, according to police.
Alyssa Forster was charged with second-degree manslaughter while intoxicated, driving while under the influence of alcohol and failure to maintain minimal insurance. She was released on a court-set $35,000 bond.
Sgt. Stanley Zajac, of the department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit, said the charges stemmed from a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on North Broad Street on Aug. 20, 2020 around 12:30 a.m.
