DUBAI: The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres praised Saudi Arabia s role in establishing a global anti-corruption network on Thursday, stressing that corruption is a serious cross-border crime.
The UN chief said that the Riyadh Initiative establishes a global platform that links anti-corruption agencies around the world, and will provide important funds to confront the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic.
Guterres said that the success of the global anti-corruption network depended on dialogue between partners which he said must also work to combat cross-border terrorism.
Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, president of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), will head the Kingdom’s delegation at the session at the UN headquarters in Vienna.

RIYADH Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan met on Thursday with the UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Miguel Moratinos in his office at the ministry s headquarters in Riyadh.
During the meeting, they reviewed Saudi Arabia’s global role in supporting dialogue among different civilizations and cultures, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Prince Faisal and Moratinos discussed the efforts of the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICID) and its strenuous work in consolidating dialogue and coexistence among the people of the world.
RIYADH: A Saudi delegation headed by Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, president of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), will launch the Riyadh Initiative called the GlobE Network at the UN headquarters in Vienna next week. The initiative aims at establishing a global operational network for information exchange between anti-corruption law enforcement authorities.
