AVCC arrests suspect for abduction and killing of minor boy

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the Karachi police on Saturday claimed to have made a major breakthrough in the kidnapping-cum-murder case of a minor boy.
According to the AVCC, a suspect, namely Salman, had been arrested who also confessed to his crime of kidnapping and murdering a 12-year-old boy, Shahid Ali.
The boy was kidnapped on January 6 from the Saeedabad area of Baldia Town.
Police said the kidnappers had demanded a ransom amount of Rs7 million from the family.
The AVCC said the arrested suspect had in the past worked in the Police Helpline 15 for eight months on a contract basis. He reportedly told the investigators that the murdered boyâs father was trying to buy a plot worth Rs7 million after selling his two plots and he came to know about it through an estate agency.

KARACHI: Police have arrested several beggars from the streets of Karachi and have raised suspicions that children accompanying them might not be their own and could have been kidnapped.
To verify the suspicion, the police is planning to carry out DNA tests of the children and the arrested adult beggars.
According to an article by
Geo News, the police, in collaboration with 10 agencies, have initiated a joint investigation to launch a crackdown on the beggar mafia in the city.
Karachi police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon told the outlet that some important decisions have been taken in this regard.
Baby recovered a month after abduction

Police on Monday recovered a baby girl who had been abducted a month ago in Karachiâs Bahadurabad locality and also arrested the alleged kidnapper during a raid in the cityâs Korangi area. The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) apprehended Maria for kidnapping the three-month-old, namely Huma.
The abducted girlâs father, Amjad, had registered a case against an unidentified woman at the New Town police station and the investigation of the case was transferred to the AVCC. Later, police investigators had obtained CCTV footage of the incident, which showed that a veiled woman kidnapped the baby girl.

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) recovered on Monday a baby girl who was kidnapped from Char Minar Chowrangi a month ago.
The police also arrested the alleged kidnapper during an operation carried out in Korangi based on a tip-off on Monday. According to AVCC officials, baby Huma’s father, Muhammad Amjad, had lodged an FIR against her kidnapping on November 21, at New Town Police Station. He had claimed in his statement that his wife and sister were returning from Alamgir Welfare Trust located in Bahadurabad when a woman approached them and took Huma from their arms and fled. The AVCC officials stated that the arrested woman, Maria, told the police during the initial interrogation that she had taken Huma because she is childless despite being married for six years.
