34 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Waterloo region Thursday
Region of Waterloo Public Health reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 and another death of a person with the virus.

Region reports 34 new COVID cases, another death Thursday
29 outbreaks remain active
It raises the local total to 10,870.
There has also been another COVID-related death, a man in his 60s who lived at a congregate setting currently in outbreak, raising the death toll to 229.
The number of people being treated in hospital remains unchanged at 42, eight are in intensive care.

129 cases have screened positive for variants of concern - 11 are the U.K. strain - lineage to the other 118 has not been determined yet
The active caseload is down to 391

46 new cases of COVID-19 in Waterloo region Wednesday as vaccination clinic set to open
Waterloo region saw 46 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday as the region was wrapping up work on the first large vaccination clinic in Waterloo. The clinic is set to open Thursday morning to vaccinate people 80 and older.

On Thursday, the vaccination clinic at 435 The Boardwalk, in Waterloo, will open to vaccinate adults 80 years of age and older. People must have an appointment, says Region of Waterloo Public Health.(Brian Morris/CBC)
