Ethiopia-COVID-19 February 03, 2021 to 08:45 388 APA-Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Ethiopia has officially launched the “No Mask No Service National Campaign” as part of an effort to fight coronavirus pandemic across the country.
The measure which is effective as of Tuesday at all schools in the country is said to have a paramount importance in curbing the spread of the virus in schools thereby protecting the teaching learning process from disruption due to the pandemic.
Students have been urged on the occasion to adhere to mask wearing measure out of schools so as to protect the community from COVID 19.
State Minister of Education, Haregua Mamo, on the occasion said, the community has shown negligence over the pandemic precautions as the spread of the virus is increasing alarmingly and called the community to stick to protective measures.
Ethiopia requests additional assistance from Russia to battle coronavirus, says ambassador

Ethiopia is waiting for Russia’s response to a request for additional assistance in the battle against coronavirus, Ethiopian Ambassador to Russia Alemayehu Tegenu Aargau said in an interview with TASS on Tuesday. Our countries have discussed at a high political level methods of fight against the pandemic, the ambassador said in comments on a meeting with the head of the Federation Council upper house’s Committee for International Affairs, Konstantin Kosachev, on January 21. Ethiopia made a request for further assistance from the Russian Federation, and we are awaiting a response, Alemayehu Tegenu Aargau said.
