With fresh Switch Pro rumours and confirmation that Nintendo has no intention of backing down from its decision to wipe Mario from existence at the end of the month, it s been quite the rollercoaster week. Thankfully, it s now time for us to have a breather and chat about our weekend gaming plans.

I’ll keep my money, because I care not if somebody is engaging in idle speculation.
As to what I am playing, it’s a bunch of indie titles that have some interesting ideas, and a title or two in-dev that I’m helping test since the ideas there interest me as well. Almost none of which are multi-player, except one of the in-dev titles.

Genshin Impact – Still basically nothing! To the point that I’m skeptical I’ll buy the battle pass this time. But I’ll see if I can rush as much event story content as possible tonight. If I manage it, I’m still in this thing, baby! If I don’t, that’s some enthusiasm dampened.

What a wonderful week it was for video game news – sure, there were highs and lows, but at least the industry felt alive for a little while. We’ll take the ups and downs over the lifeless corpse that our pastime has felt like these past few weeks.

I’ve decided not to start any new games until Yakuza: Like a Dragon launches next week, which I’m really looking forward to. As such, I’ll be killing time with my usual favourites, and checking out the new content in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The weather’s improving (as long as you don’t live in Texas, anyway) and the days are getting longer – but there’s still a global pandemic, so we’ll be closing the curtains and digging into some video games.

Last week I said I wanted to start Death Stranding, and I did. I m not sure how far into the game I am really, as the chapters seem to vary wildly in scale, but I d guess about halfway. So far I think it s mostly brilliant, although it does have a number of niggly issues throughout.
