China s Troops Have a Training Problem

With zero recent combat experience, the PLA s doctrine and training in some cases is inadequate, Global Times reported. Here s What You Need To Remember: China, despite boasting an impressive army and weapons program, has not actually gone to war in forty years. This is a good thing, but it means that their soldiers lack realistic training - a problem that PLA strategists have increasingly acknowledged. A surprising article in Chinese state media makes a rare admission of a serious weakness in the Chinese military. True, the People s Liberation Army is acquiring high-tech new weapons that, in theory, match the best American, Russian, Japanese, South Korean and European hardware.

The AR-15 Now Comes in Pistol Form

The AR-15 series of rifles is one of the most versatile long gun platform ever invented. Developed in the late 1950s, the AR-15 is available in broad array of calibers, from .50 Beowulf to .22 Long Rifle. One of the most novel adaptations of the platform is to accommodate semi-automatic handgun calibers. The result is a weapon that appears similar to the basic AR-type weapon but which has significant differences “under the hood.” The original AR-15 weapon was adopted by the U.S. military in the mid-1960s as the M16 assault rifle. The M16 fired 5.56-millimeter ammunition and used the direct impingement gas operating system to cycle the weapon. Under the direct impingement system the M-16 siphoned off hot, high pressure gunpowder gasses from the barrel to cycle itself. The gasses drove the bolt carrier group (BCG) backward out of battery, ejecting the spent brass cartridge. As the BCG continued rearward it made contact with a spring-backed buffer tube which propelled it forward

The Ruger P94 is Criminally Underrated

The Ruger P94 is Criminally Underrated The “Wonder Nines” overwhelmed the American firearms industry by introducing something totally new and at an affordable price point. Here s What You Need To Remember: The P-94 was a sleeker weapon than some of its predecessors, and was chambered in a wider variety of cartridges. During the 1980s, an invasion of European nine-millimeter handguns washed over the United States, achieving swift victories in the American handgun market and capturing large market shares. One of the first American counterattacks against this invading force was the Ruger P-series semiautomatic handgun. The P-series was ultimately exemplified by the P94 handgun.
