The 30-year-old pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on Thursday to high-range drink-driving. The court heard that Bailey had attended a Yeppoon Swans open day where he was named captain, and a day of celebratory drinking ended with him trying to drive home in a mate’s car. At 1.35am on April 17, police intercepted Bailey driving on Appleton Drive and after a random breath test, he returned a blood alcohol contentr reading of .172. The court heard Bailey, an apprentice builder, was trying to drive just 3km to his residence and could have walked the distance.

Drug-driver blames migraine for court no show

Premium Content Subscriber only A man caught drug-driving at Parkhurst said he failed to appear in court for the offence because he had a migraine and no driver’s licence. Clinton Brian William Taylor, 32, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 29 to drug-driving and failing to appear. The court heard Taylor tested positive to cannabis after police stopped him driving on Wade St, Parkhurst, on December 15 last year. Magistrate Jason Schubert said Taylor’s history “doesn’t look very good” including previous similar offending in 2020 and 2014. Taylor was fined $650 and disqualified from driving for one month. Man banned from GKI Hideaway after music festival fight

Premium Content Subscriber only A man involved in a physical fight that police had to break up during a music festival on Great Keppel Island, has been banned from the licensed premises there for six months. Nathan Adam Johnson, 20, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on Thursday to disorderly behaviour and obstructing police. The court heard that on March 20 at 6.50pm, police patrolling a music festival on Great Keppel Island were called to a large group of people congregating at the GKI Hideaway. Police officers saw security staff involved in a physical altercation with three men - one of them was Johnson who was attempting to throw punches at another man.
