Prime Minister Boris Johnson is under increasing pressure to ease lockdown sooner as Covid cases, deaths and hospital admissions continue to plummet, according to official figures. Bosses from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) recorded 9,938 new infections on Wednesday, down by a fifth from last week. Another 442 deaths were added to the toll, but this too was a decline of more than 40 percent. Hospital admissions also saw a decrease as they plunged below 1,000
There will still be a limit of up to six people from two different households meeting in outdoor hospitality venues, but there will not been any curfews in place or rules requiring people to purchase a ‘substantial meal’ to drink.
Step Three: Most of the economy reopens
The third step will kick-in on May 17 at the earliest, when it is hoping to remove most of the social contact rules that have stopped people socialising for much of the last year. This will allow people to start mixing indoors once again, including in pubs, restaurants, cinemas, theatres and hotels.
This is when the hospitality industry can really start to get going again, just in time to reap what will undoubtedly be a thirsty summer for Brits. Leisure stocks like

Our much-loved shops - or non essential retail as we now know it - will now be able to reopen.
Hairdressers, barbers and nail salons will - too- open their doors, along with gyms and swimming pools.
Pubs, bars, restaurants and so on could open around this time, but only for outdoor dining and drinking.
Self-catering holiday facilities are also expected to reopen around the same time, along with cmapsires.
While weddings and wakes will be able to have up to 15 guests.

BORIS JOHNSON S roadmap out of lockdown will be fully revealed later today as England and the rest of the UK slowly begin to see a return to normal life on the horizon. But as the announcement comes, are we returning to the tier system used before Christmas?

Speaking on BBC Newsnight, UCL Clinical Research Director Prof Christina Pagel said new variants emerging could endanger Britain’s immunisation drive. She suggested keeping infections low would help prevent coronavirus mutations infecting people who have been vaccinated.
