LOS ANGELES (AP) â Country singer K.T. Oslin, who hit it big with the 1987 hit â80â²s Ladiesâ and won three Grammy awards, has died. She was 78.
Oslinâs friend Robert K. Oermann said she died in suburban Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday morning. He learned of Oslinâs death from her aunt.
The actual cause of death has not been released.
Oermann said Oslin had been suffering from Parkinsonâs disease and lived in an assisted-living facility since 2016. She had triple bypass surgery in 1995. He said Oslin tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

Iconic country singer K.T. Oslin, known for singing the hit song “80s Ladies,” has died. She was 78.
The news of her death was confirmed by Oslin’s close pal and journalist Robert K. Oermann, Associated Press has learned. Oermann also revealed that the musician died in suburban Nashville, Tennessee on Monday morning. The journalist also stated that he received the unfortunate news from Oslin’s aunt.

Kay Toinette Oslin in Arkansas, Oslin was a folk singer, a musical theater actress and a commercial jingle singer before landing a country record deal under the name Kay T. Oslin. Neither of her singles did that well, but other artists started to record her songs, including
The Judds. She eventually signed another contract, this time using the name K.T. Oslin, and her career took off.

K.T. Oslin, a witty and sophisticated country star who found both critical and commercial success in the late 1980s, died Monday in suburban Nashville. She was 78.
Her death was confirmed by the Country Music Association, which didn’t state a cause, though the Nashville trade publication Music Row said Oslin had Parkinson’s disease and had been living in an assisted-living facility since 2016. Last week, Music Row added, Oslin tested positive for COVID-19.
