A 35-year-old man who was shot in the face by an unknown gunman made a daring move to drive himself to the hospital for emergency treatment.
According to a police report, at about 7 pm on Tuesday March 16th, the victim was parked facing south in the car park of Hakka Restaurant located at Watts Street, St Augustine, in a white Hyundai Tucson, when a man walked up to the right side of the vehicle.
The victim, who was seated in the driver’s seat, became fearful and began to sound his horn. However, the man reportedly whipped out a gun and shot the victim once in the chin.

Jovial, artistic and super-loving, little Damani was last month diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, commonly referred to as ALL, and his family is now hoping the countryâs good Samaritans will rally to his aid.
Damaniâs condition requires treatment abroad at an initial, estimated cost of US$200,000 â which is out of range financially for the family.
Damaniâs mother, Rachelle Emrith, yesterday launched a FundMeTnT campaign online and is hopeful that the national community will come through for her promising young son.
Emrith told the Express the family is currently seeking acceptance into a hospital in the United States for Damaniâs treatment, which must commence as soon as possible.
