Advent Technologies signs CRADA with DOE labs for development of next-generation HT-PEM fuel cell technology Advent Technologies Holdings signed a joint development agreement (CRADA) with the US Department of Energy’s (DOE), Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Under this CRADA, along with support from the DOE’s Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO), Advent’s team of scientists will work closely with its LANL, BNL, and NREL counterparts over the coming years in order to develop breakthrough materials that will help strengthen US manufacturing in the fuel cells sector and bring high-temperature proton exchange membrane (HT-PEM) fuel cells to the market.

TRB Session Looks Toward Maritime Decarbonization Options For Greener Future

February 15, 2021 By Shelley Byrne Maritime companies have a lot of options when it comes to choosing how to save money on fuel costs and work toward greater environmental sustainability. Several of those options were discussed as part of “Decarbonization Challenges and Opportunities in Marine Transportation,” a lectern session that was part of the recent Transportation Research Board’s annual conference. Held virtually over the past two weeks, the TRB conference is normally the world’s the largest gathering of transportation research professionals. The TRB is part of the Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. Panelists at the session on decarbonization included those from academia and government.
