10 months jail for ex-actor Huang Yiliang who assaulted Bangladeshi worker

On Jan. 22, former actor Ng Aik Leong, better known as Huang Yiliang, was convicted of assaulting a Bangladeshi worker with a metal scraper in 2018. Ng was handed a sentence of 10 months imprisonment on Feb. 26 for the assault and was ordered to compensate the victim S$3,300. Assault with metal scraper On Dec. 11, 2018, Ng had used a metal scraper that was used to clean dirt and oil to hit 34-year-old Bangladeshi worker, Jahidul, at around 4.30pm at the Singapore Islamic Hub. The 59-year-old had hit the worker twice in the abdomen and once on the head, resulting in injuries to his torso and scalp.

Buffaloe Road in Raleigh down to one lane after pedestrian struck, killed in crash

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) A pedestrian died when a car hit them on Buffaloe Road near New Hope Road on Sunday night. Raleigh Police Department said the crash happened around 7:10 p.m. while it was dark and raining outside. The police incident report states that the pedestrian, who was wearing dark clothing, ran into the path of the car. The driver of the car remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges have been filed.

The Veneto restaurant on Buffalo Road was cited last month for allowing indoor dining in an orange zone. Owner Donald Swartz claims the state flagged him after he went to court to fight the orange zone restrictions on his other restaurant in Rochester. He complied with those restrictions but says he thought the Gates restaurant was in a yellow zone.
