In fourth student arrest in two weeks, elementary schooler charged for threatening teacher

Deputies have arrested an 11-year-old Bunnell Elementary School student for threatening to shoot a teacher. It is the fourth arrest of a local student for threats since Jan. 27, and the second such arrest at Bunnell Elementary school: A 12-year-old at the school was arrested Feb. 3 for threatening to commit a school shooting. In the prior two incidents, an 11-year-old Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School student was arrested for threatening to bomb his school, and an 18-year-old Matanzas High School student was arrested over a rap song in which he threatened to kill a school administrator.

Teachers and staff in the district who are over age 65 have been eligible for vaccinations through a partnership with the district and county.  The state s numbers include a breakdown of how many cases are in each school information the districts have been unwilling to provide. Neither agency is providing information about how many students or staff members are in quarantine. 

Third student in Flagler County arrested for alleged threats at school

When questioned by deputies, the 12-year-old admitted to making the threats but claimed it was only a joke and appeared remorseful and apologetic, according to the sheriff s office. The student was taken into custody and charged with false report concerning the use of firearms in a violent manner. The juvenile was booked at the Flagler County Jail and his case was turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice. He was released to his parents, pending a future court date by order of DJJ. Last week, an 11-year-old student St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School was arrested after he was accused of threatening to blow up the school. He told deputies he had only been joking. And also last week a student at Matanzas High School was arrested after recording a song in which he threatened to kill an administrator, according to a report. The student said he did not intend to carry out the threat, the report said.

Two Students Charged In School Airsoft Incident

Jan 28, 2021 4:28 PM Holly Hill, FL - Two young Holly Hill School students are now facing charges after the pair not only brought airsoft guns on campus, but used one of them to shoot another student in a locker room. The Holly Hill Police Department (HHPD) said the incident occurred on Wednesday (January 27th), but was not reported until Thursday (January 28th). According to police, the incident took place in the boy’s locker room where one student, armed with an airsoft gun, shot another student. The victim—who was not injured—did not immediately report the incident. After learning about a student bringing an airsoft gun on campus, staff began to investigate the allegation. One student admitted to bringing an airsoft gun to school the day prior, but a different student used the gun to shoot at the victim, as they said the airsoft gun they brought to school did not work.
