Police in Elizabeth reported no physical injuries in an armed carjacking incident that occurred in the city Friday night.
In the incident, police said at approximately 11:17 p.m., police were alerted of a carjacking in progress in the 800 block of Bond Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, who reported that two males armed with a gun drove up on a gray Audi then approached and took their white Range Rover.
The suspects sped away from the scene and remain at-large.
After dispute, Elizabeth cop re-indicted on insurance fraud charges

A Superior Court judge on Tuesday ruled that a motion to dismiss an Elizabeth cop’s insurance fraud indictment was moot since the prosecutor on the case sought a new indictment from a grand jury after the judge called the prosecution’s work on the first one “sloppy.”
Alana Velazquez, who became a police officer in 2010, was charged in 2017 with insurance fraud, theft by deception, and three counts of uttering a forged document. Her criminal charges came about a year after she filed suit against the Elizabeth Police Department claiming racial discrimination.
In anticipation of the staging of events to ring in the New Year, the police have issued a warning to party promoters, that these will be in breach of the Disaster Risk Management Act.
The warning from Assistant Commissioner of Police Michael Smith, who is in charge of Area 3, was particularly directed at persons in Clarendon, Manchester and St. Elizabeth.
It follows concerns by members of the Divisional Intelligence Unit about an event to be held in St. Elizabeth between midnight and 7 o clock Friday morning.
A release from the Jamaica Constabulary Force s Corporate Communications Unit said the event, which is being promoted again by Beenie Man, is being widely advertised on social media.
