As 5G connectivity becomes more widespread fueled by its great hype machine the wonders promised seem incomprehensible at times. Remote control of fleets of vehicles from hundreds of miles away. Squads of cars or trucks that move in perfect synchronicity, communicating with not just one another but with the road itself. Shopping in a store where you never have to try on clothes thanks to augmented reality mirrors that do it for you. It’s easy to find breathless proclamations about 5G’s potential, but it’s difficult to find any research discussing what it will do for, or to, the average worker. Are we heading into a new golden age of productivity, a jobs apocalypse, or is much of the hype just marketing fluff designed to satisfy overzealous investors?
Harry and Meghan and the success of The Crown have inspired a renewed level of interest in all the people who populate the archaic structure of monarchy. But most importantly, it means the return of a character who seemed lost to the 1990s: Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, a.k.a. the original Fergie, a case study in the shifting narratives that form and reform around royal women.

Relying on your dressing to provide all of the seasoning for your salad is a rookie salad-making mistake. Like any dish, your salad is greatly improved by showing each component a little love and attention. This means seasoning your leaves and other vegetables with salt and pepper at the bare minimum, but don’t be afraid to get a little monosodium glutamate or nutritional yeast involved every single salad is better with a little extra umami. (Bonus benefit: you’ll need less dressing.)
