After investigating the deaths of a 47-year-old father and his two teenage daughters, authorities in Indiana have concluded that all three died as the result of a murder-suicide.

The girls were shot to death, officials said. Afterwards, the father turned his gun on himself.
All three bodies were found on Dec. 18, 2020, by police officers who had been dispatched to their Elkhart home after the family had not been seen or heard from for days.
Investigation reveals father killed daughters before committing suicide
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. The deaths of Jeffrey Marvin and his two daughters, Lexis and Haley in December were the result of a murder-suicide and will not result in any charges, according to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Marvin home on Spring River Drive around 4 p.m. on December 18 to conduct a welfare check.
The responding deputy made entry to the home and found 47-year-old Jeffrey Marvin, 18-year-old Lexis Marvin and 15-year-old Haley Marvin deceased in the residence.
Evidence at the scene indicated Marvin shot his daughters, then himself, several days before their bodies were discovered.

ELKHART â Three days after a man and two teens were found dead in a house in Elkhart County, information about the incident is still scarce as investigators have not publicly identified the victims or the cause of their deaths.
But an Elkhart woman, Heather Long, identified her daughters, Lexis Marvin, 18, and Haley Marvin, 15, as the two females who died. Long said the deceased man is Jeffrey Marvin, her ex-husband and the girlâs father.
Long said sheâs trying to remain strong in the face of Lexis and Haleyâs deaths, adding that investigators have not told her what they believe happened.
